Many thanks from Louisiana
Hello -
My name is Bibbet Robison, and I live in Baton Rouge, La.
I would just like to thank you all for coming to New
Orleans when you did. I gave my husband tickets for the show on
August 11th, our 15th wedding anniversary. It worked out so
wonderfully, because King Crimson is one of the first things we
found out we had in common. Plus, we have two young daughters, so
going out is rare, and this was going to be so, so amazing.
And we were not let down. The vibe of just being in the
city itself is always healing, and the show was just like liquid
energy. I felt so good coming out of that show. Our family had
been through a very tough year, and things were starting to look up,
and the show seemed to reinforce that. So thank you Adrian, and all
the people who work so hard organizing, designing, and running these
things.
Thanks to all of you we got to feel that beat of our city
one last time before Katrina hit. In less than one week, everything
as we all knew it changed.
And I have no doubt that it will come back. New
Orleanians are stubborn, hard-headed people who love their city
feriously. But it will be different. We'll end up coming to love
the different, I'm sure, but I can rest a little easier, and did -
all throughout the grief as we listened to the radio as stories of
levee breaks, Superdome catastrophes, looters, shootings, deaths - I
knew I had gotten a chance to pay homage to my city one last time.
And it gave me comfort. And a little peace. I don't know how I
would have gotten through this if I hadn't had the chance the
blessed opportunity to say goodbye.
Thank you all -
Bibbet Robison
